WELCOME TO RAICES DE MI TIERRA.COM
This is a site dedicated to promoting the beauty and passion of Mexican Folklorico Dance. For over a decade, Raices de mi Tierra has been a dedicated and professional dance troupe that aspires to keep the traditions and folklore of Mexico alive.
THIS MONTH IN RAICES
Although many people mistakenly believe that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico's Independence Day, the holiday actually commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico, and especially in the U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population.
