A thousand folkloristas milled past the mercado shops on their way to talleres de danza. Children scurried past their prents as they rushed to not be late for their Nayarit class. A balmy, sunny weather, greeted the participants who had gathered from all parts of California. Raices' members totalling over 20 dancers marked their presence as Maestros, organizers, and dancers. This truly remarkable weekend of folklorico in the heart of El Vallle Central would not have been possible without the hard work of Grupos: Teocalli, Sol, and Danzantes de Aztlan.
