Tour of Schools photo essay:
Mas que nada, Folklorico is about preserving
traditions. In a time when it not exactly cool
to promote the cultura of Latinos and
immigrants, RAICES reaches out to school
children in an annual tour to educate and
present the beauty of Mexican Dance. Sacramento
Escuelas, like those around the state of
California, are filled with brown faces longing
to see a reflection of themselves in the
Artistic diaspora. The images that follow paint
a picture of a Cultural Dance Company on a
joyful mission to never let those children down.
Many thanks to the local Schools’
administrator’s and teachers who recognize the
importance of Cultural Art in children’s lives.
