DINNER-DANCE A GREAT
SUCCESS -
On Saturday, March 1, RAICES'
members and community supporters got
together at the La Familia Counseling
Center to enjoy an evening of wonderful
food, good music, and of course, great
dancing in preview to RAICES
upcoming performing season. Many thanks to
Centro La Familia, Familia Ramirez
for the great tamales, and the dancers of
the
Yemaya Salsa for their guest
performance.

Bailes de Las
Americas - 2002 Dance Showcase
RAICES’
annual show is held every spring to
showcase the companies ever changing
repertoire and the talents of its’ many
members.
The 2002 edition, entitled Bailes
de Las Americas brought great Mexican
and Latin American Dances to the stage at
Sacramento High School Auditorium.

Nube
De Oro Posadas Folkloricas
A
Christmas time tradition for many local
families, RAICES sister group held it’s
annual dance performance at the 24th
street theater in Sacramento for the 7th
straight year.
RAICES is proud to have been a part
of this great production which was fun for
everyone involved.
Ballet
Folklorico Nube de Oro, is a
non-profit children’s organization which
teaches local kids to dance and value our
beautiful Cultura
Mexicana.

Frida Comes to Town
In a beautiful Gala
opening, the tremendous photo display of
Frida's life and work were celebrated at
the La Raza Galeria Posada on
Saturday February 8. 2003. Complete
with a Frida look alike contest, the event
was a whose who of local Artistas and
Mexican Art lovers. We danced,
we enjoyed great works of arte,
we celebrated the life of one of Mexico's
true treasures. Frida!
